John Ramsey
John Ramsey has been in the homebuilding industry for more than 10 years. A native of the Golden Triangle area, John is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Lamar University-Beaumont. He began his career in homebuilding after graduating, from Lamar University, with Royce Homes. After leaving Royce Homes, John has served in various management capacities for both public and private homebuilding companies including Centex Homes, DR Horton Homes, Richmond American Homes and Dakota Blue Homes. At Dr Horton he managed operations and was responsible for over 500 home closings per year and 100 million in sales revenue.
Prior to starting Kinsmen Homes, John served as the President of Dakota Blue Homes, a private production and custom homebuilding company that acquired Richmond American Homes - Houston operations in the summer of 2006. John was able to step into this role and utilize his experience with start-up operations and to turn around the company in the wake of a declining homebuilding market. Along with his leadership team, Dakota Blue Homes tripled its size in revenues and closings in 2007. Throughout John’s career he has specialized in start-up and growth of operations, as well as windstorm compliant construction for the Texas Department of Insurance. This has allowed him to take the best of both ends of the homebuilding spectrum. Since John began his career in the homebuilding industry he has been personally built over 100 homes and managed others responsible for building over 1,000 homes.
